Test against West Ham United – Other games scheduled

Werder Bremen’s summer preparation schedule for the 2009-10 season is slowly filling up more and more. On Monday, the test matches as part of the training camp in Bad Waltersdorf, Austria were announced. During the July 11-19, 2009 training camp, the Green-Whites will play two more contests in addition to the already announced opener against Sturm Graz.

On Wednesday, 15 July 2009 at 6 p.m., Werder will face Czech top flight side FK Jablonec 97 in Ritzing, Austria. Jablonec finished last season in fifth place in the Gambrinus Liga.

Three days later, on Saturday, 18 July 2009 at 6 p.m., Werder have a test match at their own training camp in Bad Waltersdorf against English Premier League side West Ham United. The ninth-placed club from the English top flight is coached by Italian Gianfranco Zola.

Also new in the schedule is Werder’s final warm-up match before the start of the Bundesliga season. The German Cup winners will play against Brinkumer SV on Tuesday, 4 August 2009 at 7 p.m. in Gefilden. Brinkumer won the last Press Super Cup.
