Volkswagen SuperCup – champions welcome cup winners

All football fans can now look forward to a special highlight. On 20 July, the Volkswagen Arena will host a showdown between German league champions Wolfsburg and German Cup winners Werder Bremen in the Volkswagen SuperCup 2009. The absolute highlight of the build-up to the 2009-10 Bundesliga season will kick off at 8:20 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on German channel ZDF from Wolfsburg’s Volkswagen Arena.

Just like Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen also have a successful partnership with Volkswagen. The Wolfsburg carmakers have been Werder’s official automobile sponsors since the 2008-09 season. Information about ticket sales and pricing for the Volkswagen SuperCup 2009 match will be published soon.

Thurs. 2 July 2009: Training begins on the Weser-Stadion training grounds

Fri. 3 July 2009: Travel to training camp in Norderney

Tues. 7 July 2009: 7 p.m. test match against Rot-Weiss Essen in the Sportplatz an der Mühle grounds

Thurs. 9 July 2009: 6:30 p.m. test match against Germania Leer in Loga and return from training camp in Norderney
