Werder Bremen 0 - 0 Sturm Graz

July 12, 2009

Werder Bremen’s third test match in the current preparations ended in a scoreless draw against SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz in the Austrian club’s 100-year anniversary match. The contest did not feature many highlights though the Austrians were the stronger team in the first half with more goal chances. Werder played better in the second half with substitute Boubacar Sanogo creating some good scoring opportunities. Neither side, however, was able to find the back of the net and the game ended 0-0. Werder coach Thomas Schaaf was not pleased with his team’s performance. “I just was not satisfied with what I saw today. We were not able to do a lot of the things we had planned on doing. This game did not have to end 0-0. Both sides had chances. But in the end we were missing the last bit of resolve and concentration,” said Schaaf.
