Ajax moved to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie after crushing PSV Eindhoven 4-1 – building up a seven point gap between the two teams.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez put Marco van Basten’s men ahead in the first half and although Ibrahim Affelay levelled in the 56th minute, Ajax would have the last laugh.
Sulejmani netted for 2-1 in the 74th minute and an own goal from Pieters decided the clash four minutes later. Leonardo added another to increase celebrations in added time.
Ajax are now joint top with NAC Breda, while AZ Alkmaar and FC Groningen are a further two points behind. PSV Eindhoven coach Huub Stevens now finds himself under considerable pressure as his side crashes to their 6th defeat in 11 games, leaving them 6th in the table.
Elsewhere, Feyenoord remain in a lowly 12th position after their 1-1 draw at FC Twente.
