Beckham still keen on AC Milan move

David Beckham’s loan spell at AC Milan is set to come to an end on Monday but the England international is so keen to stay at the Italian giants he is even willing to take a pay cut.

Beckham has impressed since his loan move to Milan even though initially the move was more like a publicity stunt than anything else he has become an integral part of the team scoring some vital goals.

Beckham said : ”I have spent two-and-a-half months with one of the biggest clubs in the world, some of biggest players in world and one of best coaches in the world and so far it has been an incredible experience.

“I have already expressed that I want to stay here, negotiations are still going on and hopefully it will be sorted out in the next few days and I can carry on playing my football in AC Milan.”

Negations are on going between AC Milan and La Galaxy to try and come to an arrangement however no deal has yet been done and La Galaxy boss Bruce Arena expects his star man back at the club.

“There’s nothing that’s been stated publicly that he’s leaving,” Arena said. “No-one has said he’s leaving. We’ve been consistent from the start. We have players out on loan. We expect them to be back on March 9.

“We expect Landon Donovan to be back March 9 (from a loan spell with Bayern Munich). We expect David Beckham to be back. If something changes, we’ll react to that the proper way.”

Beckham signed a five-year contract deal with LA Galaxy in January 2007, but moved to AC Milan in January 2009 in order to keep fit and improve his chances of selection for the England squad under Fabio Capello. One possible suggestion that has been raised is for Beckham to stay at Milan until the end of the Serie A season, before returning to Galaxy for the remainder of the MLS season where he would then move to Milan on a permanent basis in November 2009.
