Inzaghi enters record books as Milan draw

No Kaka, no Pato, no Gennaro Gattuso, and no Alessandro Nesta, how could Milan go through Werder Bremen? Luckily Rossoneri still has super Pippo. 35-year-old Filippo Inzaghi helped AC Milan earn a valuable away draw in the first leg of their UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie last night, and has caught up with Raul with 66 goals on UEFA’s all-time scoring list.

Milan’s tough physical situation seemed to encourage Bremen, who attacked from the start, and ended with 22 shots, compared with 6 shots from Milan. However, Pippo Inzaghi was picked out by Flamini, and handed Milan a 36th-minute lead, who found himself in the right place for the goal as per Pippo tradition. What a brilliant reaction! The competition between Pippo and  younger Raul in European history hasn’t ended.  In the second half, Pippo has several chances to score
a brace,  especially in the 66th minute, when Seedorf  gave him a nice ball, but it too bad that he hit the crossbar. As time passes, old Rossoneris were  too tired to maintain concentration. At the end of the match, Brazilian Diego beat Milan’s defenders and equalised for the hosts. Pippo’s party was denied, and one commentator criticized ” what the hell is Favalli doing? Could he do something useful? ”

Indeed, Milan has been in trouble almost right from the openingwhistle in the most matches, of course, including this one, which due to the crazy mistakes of the Rossoneri backline to the extreme extent. Therefore, it’s better to question “what the hell is Galliani doing? “Whether Alessandro Nesta could recover or not, it is the high time that introduced new defenders.
