Catania have signed former Barcelona and River Plate forward Maxi Lopez. The Argentine has agreed a four-year deal with the Sicilian club according to the club’s website.
Lopez had been on loan at Brazil’s Gremio from FK Moscow. Lazio ,Birmingham City and West Ham United were reportedly keen to sign the striker who opted to join the Serie A strugglers instead.
Catania are second from bottom in Serie A. The signing of Maxi Lopez will surely delight the fans who have been frustrated with the team’s poor form this season.
