Milan drop more points at San Siro
February 8, 2009
As the Rossoneri stands in the second place only six points behind neighbors Inter, it is virtually impossible to not think about the derby to come. However, after a draw with bottom side Reggina at home, the next match is only a honor rather than three points in the race for the Scudetto.
Pirlo was out due to the suspension and his absence gives Ancelotti the option of replacing him with Flamini in the Milan midfield, who played with Ambro behind a set of three attacking mids and one striker Pato. The victory in Rome last week gave Rossoneri confidence to win, however, former Milan forward Davide Di Gennaro took Reggina to lead in the 33rd minute. Then Rossoneri replied ineffectively with several chances, who had 26 shots and 7 on goal, compared to 6 shots from Reggina. Fans turned frustrating into relief until Kaka’s second-half penalty made by Pato, but they are disappointing to find Milan only grabbed a point at last.
It is a mistake made from Rossoneri too often in these seasons, with many easy points dropped early on, Milan has squelched chances to grasp the title. But next match is special, see you all on derby.
