Ronaldinho shines in Milan victory
October 20, 2008
The red card was the decisive moment of the match between Milan and Sampdoria this afternoon, while Brazilian Ronaldinho obviously was shining again at San Siro with his first brace in Serie A. However, the real story is beyond the final score.
Ancelotti finally adopted two strikers in this match, Pato and Borriello, who were very active in the forward. However, Sampdoria defended very well with tactic of counter-attack. It was very tough first half for Milan, and Rossoneri couldn’t find any opportunity to break the deadlock. With the entrance of Kaka in the second half, Milan started to have it all its own way. The turning point happened in the 55th minute when Sampdoria defender Stefano Lucchini was sent off due to handball offence. Ronaldinho accepted the gift opening the score with a penalty. Then Milan controlled the whole situation with having an extra man and more space. 11minutes later, Ronaldinho scored again through amazing interplay with Kaka. At the end of match, substitute super Pippo returned from injury and immediately scored a typical “Inzaghi goal”. What a wonderful match for the Rossoneri!
Sampdoria still could not gain a win, while Milan has been back to the title race. The good news is more than the result. Kaka has combined brilliantly with Ronaldinho, although their compatriot Pato is still seeking his place in this exciting all-Brazilian attack. Congratulations to Luca Antonini, who made a great debut in Serie A, hopefully he could continue his performance in Milan shirt. Jankulovksi is another play who is worthy of mentioning, because he created several chances besides that decisive penalty. However, there is still some problem in the defensive phase, although they did quite well today. Bonera is too immature to continue his performance and be trusted, and the captain is too old to be on the pitch and in good shape all the time. While the return of Nesta and kaladze is still in doubt, who are both injury prone. Therefore, seriously, the club really needs to consider purchasing someone in the winter market!
