Lazio manager Delio Rossi has admitted he hopes to sign striker Hernan Crespo from Serie A rivals Inter Milan before the end of the transfer window.
The Argentine forward enjoyed a prolific spell in Rome between 2000-2002, netting 52 goals in just 70 matches.
Rossi added that he was not looking to simply plug gaps but to fill his team with top quality players. He hoped to sign the striker before the season commences in a weeks time.
If Hernan Crespo were to move to Lazio then it could come at quite a cost to the player as he would have to take a significant cut in salary.
