Simplicio keen for Palermo stay

July 14, 2009

Brazilian star Fabio Simplicio has admitted that he would like to stay with Palermo and sign a new contract.

But Simplicio insists his demands must be met in order for him to stay with the side.

“I am 100 per cent committed to staying with Palermo,” he declared in an interview.

“Since my arrival here I have always promised to honour my contract and I have even repeated this to president [Maurizio] Zamparini.”

Simplicio’s current contract with the Italian side expires at the end of next season.

He added: “It’s not down to me to get a move on. My agent working hard and he will be arriving in Italy to sort out the problems.

“In football it isn’t uncommon that such situations should arise. However, I have always tried to give do my best for the club and now that we have come to a crossroads, it is not down to me to decide which path to take.
