Swedish star staying with Inter
May 5, 2009
Real Madrid have apparently shown an interest in Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Real star Drenthe claimed a deal has already been done for the player. However Zlatans agent has denied the claims.
“Drenthe does not even know who Real Madrid’s president is, what does he know about ‘Ibra’?” agent Mino Raiola said.
“Do any of those who say that it is a done deal want to bet €1 million? First of all, Real Madrid’s plans will depend on the presidential election and Ibrahimovic’s future depends on [Inter president Massimo] Moratti.
“Zlatan will only leave if Inter want to sell him. It’s up to Moratti. He believes he can win the Champions League with Inter.
“It is not about money, though. He is not a mercenary. I just know that at present there is nothing that suggests he will leave Inter. But things could change in the future.”
