Ten man Marseille beat Caen

Olympique Marseille bounced back from their midweek Champions League disappointment to beat Caen 2-1 and pick up their first victory in Ligue 1 since the end of August.

Marseille survived the second half dismissal of Karim Ziani as a late winner from Mamadou Niang was enough to take all three points.

They had taken the lead after only two minutes through Hatem Ben Arfa, but Caen hit back through Steve Savidan midway through the first half after a mistake by keeper Steve Mandana.

Niang headed home the clinching goal in the 59th minute and although Ziani was given his marching orders in the 70th minute for two yellow cards, OM hung on to end a run of three successive draws and remain unbeaten in the league.

Marseille are now only three points behind league leaders Lyon, although they have a game in hand against Stade Rennes on Sunday.
