Chelsea moved within touching distance of rivals Manchester United once again after a comfortable win over Manchester City.
The Blues were in control for large periods of a match which saw Michael Essien grab the only goal midway through the first half.
Chelsea are now second in the table ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.
