Arsenal victims of international injuries
October 16, 2008
Six of Arsene Wenger’s Gunners have reported back from their respective international duties with injury problems, three of which will be out for at least two games.
William Gallas has a hamstring problem, Bacary Sagna a knee injury and Nicklas Bendtner an ankle complaint. Those three will all miss Saturday’s Premier League game against Everton plus the mid-week trip to Turkey to face Fenerbache in the Champions League.
Cesc Fabregas an Johan Djourou both sustained head injuries, Djourou sustained concussion during his game with Switzerland and will be assessed tomorrow to see if he is available. Wenger stated “He does not look too bad and he could have a good chance to play.”
On a more positive note the Spaniard suffered a broken nose, which should not stop him from playing.
The other issue for Arsenal is Robin van Persie, who left for the Dutch camp with a reported muscle problem played just over 35 minutes as a substitute last night, and will be hopeful to face the Toffees.
