Bilic tempted by Premiership
November 22, 2008
Slaven Bilic, Croatia’s national coach, has revealed with some surprise that he greatly desires a managing role in England once his national team duty is over. “I would certainly be disappointed if I didn’t become a coach of an England club, as I am a huge fan of English football,” he told the Vjesnik daily earlier this week.
After managing the national team on the world stage since July of 2006, and before that playing in the English Premier League, and being considered for several jobs over the summer, Bilic should have no problem becoming a manager in England. He added, “I still have several offers but I can’t tell right now whether any of them will be realized. It is true that my goal is to coach a team competing in the best European leagues and England is my preference.”
