Corluka Insists Modric Will Get Better

At last season’s start, newly signed Spurs player Luka Modrić had a bit of a struggle adjusting to life in the Premier League. But as the season picked up, it became evident why he is playing in the best league in the world. Fellow Croatian Vedran Čorluka believes that he can only “get better and better” from here on out.

In an interview with Spurs TV Online, Vedran talked about Luka in the previous season. He said, “It was difficult at the start because it was his first time playing in England and nobody in the team was playing well at that point. When the team started to play well, he showed why he is one of the best young midfielders in the world. Hopefully he will be even better next season because he knows how other teams play against us and the surroundings, so it will be a lot easier.”

He added, “It’s hard for foreign players at first because everything is so much faster than in other leagues, as well as the physical strength. But after you play half-a-season, you are used to these things. If you have the same ability of the other players, then eventually you should be able to compete.”
