Ivorian hit-man Didier Drogba was widely tipped to join up with “The Special One’s” new club (Inter) at the end of last season.
I spoke with him [Scolari] and he showed he wanted me to stay and that’s what finally convinced me,” Drogba told a British Sunday newspaper.
“It’s true that it was 50/50 as to whether I would stay but I still think I have something to prove.”
But through the convincing chat and similar qualities in coaching Scolari has convinced Drogba to stay at Chelsea.
“Scolari is one of those coaches who is very close to the players. His style is similar to Mourinho’s,” said Drogba.
“I like this type of coach. I feel much more comfortable with this style of management.”
