Drogba Will Not Rush Recovery
September 4, 2008
The Ivory Coast ‘Didier Drogba’ has yet to play with the first team this season because of problems with his knee.
Drogba has missed many games with Chelsea, and has not played since the Champions League final in May when he was sent off.
The Ivorian hitman played with the reserve squad against Arsenal on Monday playing for almost the full match without any complaints or pain. Also racking up 1 assist in the first half. Chelsea won 3-2.
Although Drogba played with the reserves, he as insisted that he will not rush his recovery process and only once he feels 100% he will start playing with the first team again.
Drogba told the press: “I had good feelings but it is a bit early to say I am in good shape.
“It’s hard as this is the first time for many years I have been out for three months and it is really difficult to come back. I need time but the good thing is the club understands this and knows that when I am, I will give everything for the team.”
