Eduardo targets Christmas return

Arsenal forward Eduardo is aiming to be playing by Christmas as he continues his recovery from a broken leg suffered in February.

The Brazilian-born Croatia striker was first thought to be out for more than a year after suffering the horror double leg break in a tackle with Birmingham defender Martin Taylor.

Eduardo has been recovering in a clinic in Rio de Janeiro since April, but is now back at the Emirates and is anxiously awaiting test results which will reveal the necessary period of recovery.

He told Arsenal TV Online: “The worst part is over and I have had a lot of difficulties to overcome since the beginning. But I am very happy with the progress I am making. That is thanks to the help I have had and I am just waiting for the moment when I am ready to play again.

“I will try to come back as fast as I can and make sure I can play well when I do. I hope I will know exactly how long it will take me to be back in training with my team-mates. I want to find out, as well, when they think I can play again. My hope is that it will be before Christmas.”
