Manchester City have been linked with moves for Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona, the latter not in a playing capacity thankfully.
They have not been put off by their failed attempt to buy Kaka in January and are pursuing Barcelona star Messi with a reported record bid of £100 million.
Diego Maradona is being targeted for a presidential role at the club after Al-Fahim admitted he was a huge fan of the Argentine legend when he played with Napoli.
“I do not know if Maradona will be a good coach. What I believe is that he should be the president of a club and have the right to choose and buy players.”
“In Naples he started from scratch and built a great club. He has the power to change a football team.”
On the subject of Messi he said: “Messi is a player that makes me love Argentina again.”
Whether they can succeed in persuading Messi to leave his beloved Barcelona is yet to be seen but it could potentially be a bigger coup than Kaka.
