Man City linked with Henry swoop

The persistent rumours linking FC Barcelona & France star Tierry Henry with a move to Manchester City refuse to go away. Fresh reports from Spain and England indicate that Sheik Al Fahim, owner of City has targeted Henry in a bid to strengthen their squad this summer after what has been a desperately dissapointing season for the blue half of Manchester.

Henry has been in fine form for the Catalan giants this season having scored 15 goals in la liga so far and is playing an instrumental role in Barca’s wonderful attacking football which has been delighting football fans the world over. After a patchy first season with the Blaugrana last year, Henry has recovered to show the form that saw him become a legend at Arsenal and the clubs all time leading goalscorer.

At 32, the price for Henry would be around £10 million – mere pocket change for City’s mega rich owners. This possible signing is further evidence of City setting a more realistic transfer policy, having been badly burned by the debacle of the failed attemp to sign AC Milan’s Kaka for a world record £103million in January.

It appears that Mark Hughes has lost patience with his unpredictable star Robinho and although older, Henry is seen as the perfect replacement to spearhead Man City’s attack next year.
