Santa Cruz set to stay at Blackburn

Sam Allardyce has already knocked back a £12 million bid for his star striker Roque Santa Cruz and is adamant that he would not sell him for anything less than £40 million. He has valued the Paraguayan at the cost relegation from the Premiership would be and is urging his star man to help Blackburn out of the relegation battle.

“After declining the offer we haven’t received contact from Manchester City since.”

“I don’t think anyone is going to offer us £40 million for Roque Santa Cruz. If it was offered, i think i would have to take it. I don’t think the board would take too kindly to me saying “No, I’m still not taking that”. “

“The value of Roque as a player for us is far greater than what anyone could give us in terms of money. The money is no good to me at this stage of the season.”

Mark Hughes was the man who brought Santa Cruz to Blackburn and after an impressive season last year the striker is one of his main signing targets. If Manchester City fail to land their man it will be another huge blow after being rejected by Kaka.
