July 22, 2009
Spurs have made it 3 out of 3 wins since their pre-season friendly campaign has started. Tuesday night, they came up against Peterborough United and sealed a 4-0 victory. This time, the goals came from Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe, Luka Modrić, and Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Spurs showed real character as they created chance after chance and finally Bent opened the scoring in the 35th minute. In the second half, half-time sub, Luka Modrić worked his magic as he sent Defoe into the box ,who made no mistake in finishing to make the score 2-0. In the 68th minute, Modrić himself scored his first goal since the end of last season, which was also their third of the evening. Pavlyuchenko finished off the match with Spurs’ fourth goal, also his first of the pre-season.
With this win, Redknapp’s men will be ready for the Wembley Cup by the end of this week. They have been making excellent progress in their training and a promising season looks to be ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
