sPL champions Celtic have confirmed that they have released Thomas Gravesen from his Parkhead contract.
“Celtic Football Club, Thomas Gravesen and Thomas’s representatives have agreed that he will part company with the club,” the club said in a statement.
“Thomas wishes Celtic every success and, likewise, the club wishes Thomas all the very best for the future.”
The Danish midfielder was a huge flop in Scotland after joining from Real Madrid in August 2006, failing to establish himself in the Parkhead clubs first team squad.
He returned to his former club Everton on loan for the second part of last season but failed to win a permanent contract.
Gravesen was given a surprise start in a pre-season friendly against Manchester City but was not involved in either SPL game against St Mirren and Dundee United.
