Darcheville wants to extend Ibrox stay

Darcheville has been in and out of the team his move to Rangers last year as the striker has struggled to stay fit and on occasion has struggled to find his goal scoring touch but he is desperate to get back amongst it all and get some goals so he can extend his stay in Scotland.

“The club haven’t said anything to me yet about the possibility of extending my contract.”

He added: “If I score a lot of goals maybe the manager will give me one more year.

“I played in France for 13 years and don’t want to go back there. I love the fact in Scotland the stadiums are full wherever we play.”

Darcheville netted 15 times last season despite rarely playing 90 minutes after being troubled by injury problems, especially an Achilles strain.
But he has yet to score this season and was an unused substitute as Rangers won 3-1 at Hamilton on Saturday.

“I’m disappointed with myself because I know in the time I’ve been at Rangers I’ve never given more than 60% of my capacity because I’ve had problems,” he added.

“(As well as injuries last year] there were a lot of times I had to play on my own up front and I need a partner.

“This year, though, I’ve been working well because I have had a good training programme that I’ve never had before.
