Injury has left Thomson devastated

Rangers midfieder Kevin Thomson has been left devastated that he is out for the rest of the season after suffering damage to his cruciate ligament when playing against Kilmarnock last weekend.

“It was just a feeling of total devastation,” Thomson said.

The moment it happened, I knew immediately how serious it was and what the consequences would be.”

“They carted me off to an ambulance room in a corner of the ground – I had never been in that room before and hopefully I’ll never have to see it again.

“I just lay there knowing I was in serious trouble. I admit I probably cried more tears in half an hour inside that room at Rugby Park than I have in all my life. Gutted doesn’t even come close.”

It was the second cruciate ligament injury Thomson has endured during his career after hurting his right knee while at Hibernian as a 19-year-old.
