Real Madrid will miss Xabi Alonso for at least three weeks. The new signing from Liverpool suffered an achilles tendon injury during the Champions League match against Zurich (5-2 win).
During the match in Switzerland, Alonso had to be replaced by Fernando Gago in the 59th minute.
The Spanish international came over from Liverpool, this summer.
Due to his injury Alonso is certain to miss the important matches against Villarreal (Primera Division, September 23) and Olympique Marseille (Champions League, September 30).
