Milito back by Ibrahimovic out

November 20, 2009

Argentine defender Gabriel Milito returned to action after an 18-month injury lay-off on Wednesday as Barcelona defeated Bolivar CF of Bolivia 4-1 in a friendly match.

“It’s a very special day for me,” said the 29-year-old Milito, who suffered knee ligament damage in the Champions League semi-final defeat to Manchester United in 2008.

However, Barcelona’s Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out of Saturday’s clash with Athletic Bilbao and could also miss Tuesday’s crucial Champions League tie against Inter Milan.

Ibrahimovic, 28, has an injured right leg and is crucial to the defending European champions’ hopes of making the second round of this year’s competition.
