Robben doubtful for Madrid derby

Real Madrid’s Dutch striker Arjen Robben is doubtful for the derby against Atletico Madrid due to a thigh injury, Spanish sports daily As reported Tuesday.

Ex-Chelsea star Robben had been earlier ruled out of Holland’s World Cup qualifiers against Iceland on Saturday and Norway on October 15.

The 24-year-old, who suffered the injury during Real’s 2-2 draw against Espanyol on Sunday, is a major concern for the October 19 derby after undergoing a medical.

It is his sixth injury since he joined Real from the English Premiership side in August 2007 on a five-year contract.
