Former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has stated he believes former Old Trafford team-mate will one day join him at the Bernabeu.
The Real Madrid forward told Spanish sports paper Marca that he is confident the Portuguese starlet will join ‘Los Galacticos’ next summer, “or the one after”.
Ronaldo, who hit 30 goals in the Premiership last season, was strongly linked with a move to the Spanish champions this summer, but the clubs failed to reach an agreement.
The Portuguese star does have a long term contract with United, who seem anything but willing to let him go without a fight.
Despite this summer’s transfer rumours, Ronaldo’s popularity among United fans doesn’t seem to have received a knock.
