The agent of David Silva has insisted the in demand winger wishes to stay with Valencia this season, as long as the La Liga club show how much they value him.
The 22-year-old winger has been linked with a move to a whole host of major clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter after an impressive performance at Euro 2008.
However Silva’s agent, Julio Llorente, told the Spanish newspaper AS: “He (Silva) wants to stay at Valencia.
He continued: “After that, if other opportunities arise then we’ll analyse them, but at the moment he’s very happy here.”
Roma were last week linked with a 25million euro bid for the talented playmaker, with Valencia rumoured to be needing to offload their star players due to mounting financial problems.
The club are reported to be in financial difficulties, despite the fact that new president Vicente Soriano has insisted that an injection of funds is due to arrive and Silva and fellow Spain star David Villa will not be sold.
“If in the next few days anything comes up which changes that then we’ll have to weigh it up and make a decision,” he said.
“David wants to stay and he has a contract. Lots of clubs have shown an interest in him, for that reason he wants Valencia to show him that they value him.
“That’s normal, but he wants to stay.”
