1899 have snapped up the Argentine starlet Franco Zuculini from under the noses of Europe’s elite.
The 18-year-old, who has already a senior International cap, was reportedly wanted by the top sides in England, Spain and Italy. The midfielder has been on the radar of many European scouts since he was 16 and following an impressive break-through into the Racing team was dubbed the ‘new’ Redondo and Diego Simeone.
Hoffenheim who enjoyed an impressive first Bundesliga season, have employed a policy of buying young talent with potential ,rather than hyper-expensive stars with their large bank balance over the last few years in their march up the German leagues. Although they have spent more than most in the lower German levels 1899 and their backer Dietmar Hopp have not opted for the quick fixes. Zuculini joins a youthful team with a very bright future in which the potential star should flourish following his £4.25M move.
