whisper Despite being a midweek of Internationals there is still transfer whispers, some immeadiate loan deals, and potential deals in the wint transfer window – here are a couple of the bigger ones…

villaThe Latest club to be linked with one of Standard Liege’s impressive team is Aston Villa, papers have this morning claimed that Martin O’Neill want to bring in Steven Defour, who Middlesbrough, Everton, and Arsenal have been amongst others touted as a January destination for the Standard captain. Which ever cub he ends up at will likely have to stump up around £8m though.

arsenalDaniel Van Buyten has said he is happy at Bayern, but has commented that Arsenal, who he’s been linked with this week, are “a top club” and praised their style of football.
The tall Belgian might be the sort of player that Wenger needs to bulk up his defence or midfield on those nasty trips up the M1.

realmHernan Crespo may make his first move to Spain, to cover for Ruud van Nistelrooy. So far Gonzalo Higuain has filled in well scoring Four in one match, but the loss of the the Dutchman for sometime means Real Madrid have a lack of options up top.

blckbrnNorwegian defender Tore Reginiussen will undergo a medical at Blackburn next week with a view to a January transfer, according to his club. The Tromso player can also play in midfield, and is set to arrive in Lancashire on Sunday and spend a few days with the club after impressing the Rovers’ scouts. He’ll be on trial as the Norwegian season is finished.

cardiffAston Villa’s Wayne Routledge has joined Cardiff on-loan after only making one league appearance this season, obviously failing to impress Martin O’Neill enough. The Bluebird’s have just lost ex-Villa youngster Peter Whittingham to injury for three months.
